A rescue-mission CRM went from handoff chaos to production in seven days.
Every consulting engagement builds toward one message: production is live. This week we sent it on Access Ventures in seven days.
The arc was a classic rescue mission. On the 16th, Crystal delivered nearly the full items-needed list in one shot: OAuth details, admin accounts, allowed domains for three orgs, Anthropic and OpenAI keys, and Airtable access to all five bases. That single clean handoff is the reason the rest moved fast. By the 17th everything was live: keys installed, a fresh export of all five bases, 12,539 records, and 1,135 attachments recovered, including files that had been lost to expired Airtable links. Confidential notes were locked to exactly the three people who should see them.
On the 20th we mapped the fundraising statuses to real pipeline stages, Not Contacted through Active. On the 23rd, production went live: a non-expiring Anthropic key powering voice capture and the morning briefing, and Google OAuth sign-in with auto-provisioning across all three domains.
The lesson is not that AI makes everything fast. It is that speed is a function of scope discipline and clean inputs. One organized client handoff on day one compressed what usually becomes weeks of chasing credentials.
But speed exposes the threads you do not control. Two small client asks remain: confirm the OAuth consent screen is set to External so staff do not hit a 403, and add two DNS records to flip on the live domain. The real risk is Aleks's July 31 departure and a Zapier handoff that still has not happened. That is the thread I cannot close myself. A seven-day build is only as durable as the handoffs around it, and the handoff you do not own is the one that will bite.
